Frequently Asked Questions

What can an 800W off-grid solar kit run?
Lights, phone and laptop charging, Wi-Fi, security cameras, a freezer or small fridge, fans, power tools and small pumps. The 3,000W inverter can run any single 120V appliance up to 3,000W, but the daily total is limited by the battery and solar, so it suits outbuildings rather than a whole house.
How much power does it produce per day?
About 2.5–3.5kWh on a clear day, based on 4–5 peak sun hours. Output is lower in winter and in cloudy regions.
How long will the battery last without sun?
The 5.12kWh bank stores about 4.6kWh of usable AC power after inverter losses; the 7.68kWh bank about 7kWh. See the What It Powers tab for runtimes on common loads.
Can I charge it with a generator or grid power?
Yes. The inverter has a 120V AC input, so a generator or wall outlet can charge the batteries and power your loads when solar falls short. It is not a grid-tie system and does not send power back to the utility.
Can I expand the system later?
Yes. You can add 24V batteries in parallel for more storage, and add panels as long as the array stays within the inverter's 3,000W input and 250V open-circuit voltage limits. Our team can check a planned expansion before you buy.
Can I install it myself?
Most owners mount the panels and place the components themselves using the wiring diagram. Check local code; many areas require a licensed electrician for the final AC connections.
Should I choose 5.12kWh or 7.68kWh?
Choose 5.12kWh for light daily loads such as lighting, cameras and tool charging. Choose 7.68kWh if you run a freezer, pump or tools most days, or need two to three cloudy days of reserve.
What warranty does the kit have?
Each component carries its manufacturer's warranty, and the solar panels include a 25-year power output warranty. Call us for the full terms on each part.
